New Release: New Order

If you haven't heard the latest from New Order you should give it a listen. I was surprised how good it is. It reminds me more of the Substance days of the 80s more than anything else.

Mark Cuban to finance Grokster defense

The U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments in a case involving Grokster, a company that makes a file-sharing program, to determine whether these programs are illegal. Entertainment companies say file sharing violates copyright laws. But the corporate giants of Silicon Valley are lining up to support Grokster.

File Sharing vs IRC

Is it time to shift to Internet Relay Chat (IRC)? The advantage of using the IRC instead of file sharing software is that you don't share the software as with BitTorrentand other file sharing programs. Instead you send requests to have software sent to you. However you are limited to the connection speed of that one source on the IRC versus potentially multiple connections from BitTorrent.

Sulu Dance

I was just thinking about the Howard Stern show and wanted to see if I could find the Sulu Dance song...I found it and the soundboard.

LD Emulator

I ran across a site that has an emulator that allows you to play some of those laser disc games from the 80s. I never played them, now I can.

You'll have to find the roms as DAPHNE is just the emulator to run the roms. Search the torrent sites.

New Version of Netscape
The once great browser is back...but for how long?

According the C|Net, Netscape has just released the public beta of their browser. Version 8.0 sports some neat features such as built in RSS Reader, like firefox, but also an interesting antiphishing feature that will protect you from identity fraud. Blacklisted sites known for phishing will cause the browser to disable some of the technology (active x) that allows the install of software. Take a look..

Super Size Me

Ok I know I'm probably the last person on Earth to see this but in case you haven't watched it, do yourself a favor and go watch it.

I was ready to swear off fast food within the first five minutes. The vommit scene pretty much did that for me..but still after watching the rest of this nauseating documentary you realize all this shit you are actually consuming. Highlights included his discovery of a hair in his food. That's always nice. I feel sick just thinking about it.

It's interesting to know that lunch ladies at the schools around America are proud that they only have to cook 6 times a month and the rest of the time they just cut open a box and heat up whatever it contains. (Sloppy joe, slop, sloppy joe)

My old roomate chris van doren (known for his $1 double whooper binge Friday nights back in the day) recommended this movie to me a while back. I can't remember what I was going to say about him...oh yea now I remember... While we were at Texas Tech he often would gorge himself at meals because he had no money to grab late night snacks, so one time he ate - I think - 20 plates of tomales (2 on each plate if I remember right), and also cleaned out the fries at the fry bar, which was just a self serve area with french fries and chili. I think one time he clogged the sink in his dorm room with the fries that uh..he couldn't hold down. Gross, eh? What's more gross is he left it clogged for a whole weekend.

Good times...

((((( SUPER SIZE ME )))))
