Never buy a first- generation Apple product

The reason I wasn't interested in the first version was the cost. I just couldn't see spending that much money for a smartphone. The new iPhone will start at $199. Now, I might just consider it. I dig the GPS and 3G, although I don't know how often I would surf the net using the iPhone. I wonder what affect the new iPhone will have on the pricing for the Blackberry Bold.
